Dongguan HydroBlue Co., Ltd. supplies replacement float switches engineered to match original FLYGT specifications for submersible sewage pumps and wastewater lifting stations. Our team of eight engineers combines expertise in electrical engineering, pump control systems, and wet-well equipment design, with research partnerships at Jiangsu University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Guangdong University of Technology. In addition to float switches, we provide a complete range of pump spares, variable-frequency drive cabinets, motor control enclosures, mechanical seal assemblies, and overseas field engineering support including 3D scanning of worn pump components.

Contact us with your pump model and cable requirements for a compatibility check and quotation.
The FLYGT float switch is a sealed tilt switch inside a buoyant housing. As the liquid level rises, the float tilts and the internal switch changes state, sending a signal to the pump control panel. The start and stop levels are determined by the float's position along the cable and the use of a supplementary counterweight. Typical switching differential: 300–500 mm with standard cable.

Symptom |
Likely Cause |
Action |
|---|---|---|
|
Pump won’t start at high level |
Float obstructed, waterlogged, or cable broken |
Remove obstruction. Test continuity. Replace if waterlogged |
|
Pump runs continuously |
Stop float stuck in ON position; cable tangled; counterweight displaced |
Test each float individually. Re-secure cable and weight |
|
Short cycling (< 2 min) |
Floats too close; counterweight too near the float |
Increase separation to ≥ 300 mm. Reposition weight |
|
Contactorer chattering |
Float contacts arcing; voltage drop in long cable |
Install interposing relay. Check cable conductor size |
Q1: Can a waterlogged float be repaired?
No. Waterlogging means the cable-to-housing seal has failed — there is no reliable repair. Replace the float switch. To prevent recurrence, ensure the cable is not under tension at the entry point and inspect the seal condition every 2–3 years.
Q2: What cable type should I choose for abrasive sewage?
PUR-sheathed cable offers the best abrasion resistance. Standard H07RN-F neoprene is suitable for general municipal sewage but will chafe faster if in contact with sharp-edged debris or rough wet-well surfaces.
Q3: How do I test a float switch without entering the wet well?
Disconnect the wires at the control panel. Connect a multimeter across the switch conductors. Lift the float by its cable (via a hook or access hatch) until it tilts. A click and continuity change confirms the switch is working.
Q4: What is the difference between your float switch and a generic one?
Our FLYGT float switch reproduces the OEM mounting dimensions, cable entry thread, float body profile, and connector type. Generic floats may have different fitting dimensions, causing installation issues even if the electrical ratings match.
Q5: What is the warranty?
12 months from commissioning or 18 months from dispatch. Covers contact failure, seal failure causing water ingress, and conductor breakage. Chafing and chemical damage are application-dependent.
